A few days ago there were certain reports about a bug that was crashing PlayStation 4 console. The bug was actually a specific message which programmed in a matter causing the consoles to crash.

Some users reported that they were affected by the bug pretty badly and some users even factory reset their console in order to fix this annoying bug which put the console into a Crash Loop.

The issue wasn’t acknowledged by Sony in any statement or blog and it hasn’t released any official word about the fix of the bug.

However, Ask PlayStation UK on Twitter did say that:

“We’ve since fixed the issue, and it wasn’t bricking consoles, just sending them into a crash loop that can be quickly fixed in under 5 minutes. Delete the message on the PS mobile app, go into Safe Mode, use Option 5, console back to normal.”

As claimed by this account of PlayStation, the bug is now fixed but if you are affected by this bug and received such a malicious message then read here how you can fix it.

This isn’t the first time that we have heard about a malicious message affecting devices but previously they were mostly Apple devices which were affected by such bugs. It is the first time that a console has been affected and as claimed by Sony, the bug seems to be fixed.
