A brand new trend is going to be introduced by Facebook into the tech world is that they will tell you how much time you spend on their apps, but it doesn’t mean that they want you to leave their apps like Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp, Messenger.

A new leak shows that Instagram may soon receive a new navigation feature that will make it even easier to lose yourself in endless streams of pictures and videos.

New Tapping Feature

Instagram now looking to change the scrolling feature, which is how you navigate between posts right now, with a new feature through which you have to just tap on the picture.

A screenshot from a Twitter user accurately shows about this feature which says”

“Introducing a new way to move through posts — Tap through posts, just like you tap through stories.”

Instagram confirmed that the feature is currently in testing phase without saying whether or not it’ll reach your feed in the near future:

We’re always testing ways to improve the experience on Instagram and bring you closer to the people and things you love.

This new change may seem meaningless to some users but it will completely change the way how you navigate through posts.

Scrolling can be tiring, especially for older people. So tapping on the screen to proceed to the next image would keep people inside Instagram for more extended periods of time. And the more you use the app the more sponsored content they get.

This new feature is somewhat similar to how we navigate and interact with Instagram stories and it looks like that soon this feature will be implemented in the app as it is currently in the testing period.
